With immediate effect, Refugees will no longer be declined but will be referred to Credit. View the requirements for the Refugee Program.
The conditions for a Refugee to be considered for a loan are as follows:
- Transactional relationship with SBSA for 6 months with evidence of income
- The refugee should have been in South Africa for a minimum of 2 years
- The refugee should have been employed in South Africa for a minimum of 1 year
Please note that this change allows for the review of a refugee application but does not guarantee approval. The LTV will be determined by the Credit Granting Manager and will take into consideration factors such as whether the applicant/co-applicant is/are Non-Residents or Residents
